Lamar Consolidated ISD officials received videos allegedly showing former teacher Adrienne Harborth filming pornographic content on school property. Community activists Candice Matthews and Quanell X demanded the district take action in response to the videos.

According to Matthews, the explicit videos were recorded by Harborth at Adriane Mathews Gray Elementary School, both in a bathroom and a classroom, during school hours. However, district officials stated that upon initial review, they do not believe children were present during the filming of the videos.

The district has opened an investigation to verify the timestamp and circumstances surrounding the recordings. If criminal behavior or conduct violating the Texas Administrative Code Educator’s Code of Ethics is found to have occurred, the district will engage with the appropriate reporting agencies.

Harborth submitted her resignation letter in February, effective at the end of the school year. The district spokesperson noted that the campus and district had no knowledge of these videos at the time of her resignation, and it is unclear if the videos were the reason for her decision to resign.

Activists Matthews and Quanell X have demanded that the videos be reported to law enforcement, that the district check in with Harborth’s students to ensure their safety, and that her teaching certification be terminated and revoked by the Texas Education Agency.
